Common Questions

How much does a panel upgrade cost in Ottawa?

Panel upgrades typically cost between $1,500 and $4,000 depending on the amperage increase and complexity. A 100A to 200A upgrade usually runs $2,000-$3,500. We provide free quotes for all panel work.

Do I need an ESA inspection for electrical work?

Yes, all electrical work in Ontario requires an ESA (Electrical Safety Authority) inspection. As licensed electricians, we pull all required permits and schedule ESA inspections as part of our service.

How long does EV charger installation take?

Most Level 2 EV charger installations are completed in a single day. If a panel upgrade is needed to accommodate the new circuit, it may take an additional day.

Is knob and tube wiring dangerous?

Knob and tube wiring isn't inherently dangerous if undisturbed, but it lacks a ground wire and can be a fire hazard if insulation covers it or if it's been modified improperly. Many insurance companies require its removal.
